Terms of Service

Effective date: 20 August 2026 · Last updated: 20 August 2026
These Terms govern use of the Nepali Blood Donors Mobile App and nepaliblooddonors.com.

By installing the app or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled.

1. What this service is

Nepali Blood Donors (also known as Nepali Blood Donors / NBD) is a community information and matching platform. It helps people find voluntary donors, post blood requests, look up blood banks and ambulances, track donation history, and share related events and notices across Nepal.

We are not a hospital, blood bank, ambulance operator, or Nepal Red Cross Society facility. We do not collect, store, test, or transfuse blood.

2. Non-commercial use

The app is free. You may not use it to buy or sell blood, plasma, or other human tissues, to charge seekers a matching fee, or to run a commercial donor-brokerage. Listing a hospital, Red Cross centre, or ambulance for public emergency access is allowed. Using the platform to spam, harvest phone numbers, or advertise unrelated products is prohibited.

Partnership inquiries (awareness campaigns, hospitals, NGOs) must go through info@nepaliblooddonors.com and remain consistent with voluntary, unpaid donation norms in Nepal.

3. Voluntary donation disclaimer

All donations facilitated through the app are intended to be voluntary and unpaid. A donor who accepts a request is offering personal help; they are not our employee or contractor. A seeker who posts a request is responsible for the accuracy of hospital details, blood group, and urgency. Nobody is obliged to donate, travel, or answer a call.

Eligibility checklists and the 90-day cooldown tracker are educational. Only a licensed blood transfusion service or hospital may accept a donor after medical screening (age, weight, hemoglobin, infection risk, interval since last donation, and other clinical rules).

4. Limitation of medical liability

The app and website provide information and communication tools only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or a substitute for emergency care.

  • In a life-threatening emergency, call 102 (ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Do not wait for an in-app match.
  • Blood group compatibility shown on this site is a teaching aid. Transfusion requires hospital cross-matching and clinician authorisation.
  • We do not verify every user’s identity, health status, or availability in real time. “Verified” badges indicate in-app checks we choose to apply; they are not a clinical guarantee.
  • Helpline numbers in the directory are public contacts published in good faith. Confirm them with the institution before relying on them.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nepali Blood Donors, its developer, and volunteers are not liable for delayed matches, unanswered calls, incorrect user-posted details, adverse reactions to donation or transfusion, transport incidents, or any medical outcome. You use the service at your own risk.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate name, blood group, district, and phone number.
  • Do not impersonate hospitals or post fake emergencies.
  • Respect privacy: use numbers only for the request at hand; do not harass donors.
  • Follow Nepal Red Cross and hospital instructions at the donation site.
  • Keep the Mobile App updated from Google Play.

We may suspend accounts that abuse the platform, including fake requests, harassment, or commercial blood trading.

6. Intellectual property

The Nepali Blood Donors name, logos, app UI, and this website’s design and copy are owned by the developer unless otherwise credited. You may share Play Store and website links for non-commercial awareness. You may not copy the app, scrape donor databases, or reuse branding in a way that implies official Red Cross endorsement unless that organisation has granted it in writing.

7. Availability

The service is provided “as is”. Networks, Google Play, hosting, or push-notification outages can interrupt matching. Features may change. An iOS app is not currently offered.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Courts in Nepal have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any consumer rights that cannot be waived.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after the updated date constitutes acceptance. The date at the top is the current version.
